Most patients start washing 48 to 72 hours after surgery. Confirm timing with your surgeon. Some clinics advise daily washes from day 3 until scabs fall naturally, others prefer spacing washes during the first week.

• Day 1-2: No washing, keep scalp dry, apply prescribed topical care.
• Day 3 onward: Gentle washing with mild, sulfate-free shampoo.
• After scabs fall (day 10-14): Resume normal wash frequency.

Step-by-Step Washing Technique

Use lukewarm water, avoid high-pressure streams. Soften crusts with saline spray or surgeon-recommended solution before shampoo.

• Wet scalp gently with cupped hand or low-flow shower.
• Apply diluted shampoo to donor and recipient areas using fingertips.
• Massage donor area lightly, tap transplanted area instead of rubbing.
• Rinse gradually, letting water flow without force.
• Dry by patting with a soft towel or air drying.

Patients with hairline design & restoration or crown restoration may prefer the cupped-hand method for sensitive zones.

Common Post-Wash Care in India

After washing, avoid direct sun, dust, and heavy sweating for several hours. Your doctor may recommend soothing sprays or topical antibiotics. Regenerative treatments such as PRP or i-PRF can be scheduled once healing allows. Keep before/after images secure; results are shared only with patient consent.
